What do we do?

Hannah's House 119 offers several different programming options to meet the needs of each individual youth.  We believe that prevention is key and provide programming that educates our youth about the risks and signs of sexual exploitation.  We provide life skill training to give our youth the tools needed to be successful in life and build upon the 40 Developmental Assets.  Hannah’s House believes that “every” child is just one decision away from becoming a statistic.  We also believe that ONE caring adult can be the KEY to their  success.

Girls/Guys Circle- mentoring groups that meet in school or after school once a week. Our in school groups include, Beacon Academy, CHOICES High School (we have a guys group here and are in need of male mentors!), and Stark College and Career High School.  Our after school groups include, Osnaburg Local Schools, Canton City Schools, Minerva Local Schools, and Louisville City Schools.  If you would like more information on how you can volunteer to help with one of these groups, please email Carla, our Volunteer Coordinator.

Girls Club- mentoring groups comprised of girls from all throughout Stark County.  They are placed according to their peer groups and location in the county.  We have three Girls Club groups that meet once a week: Monday Nights at Beacon Academy in Canton, Tuesday Nights in Alliance, and Thursday afternoons at Hannah's House in East Canton. Girls from all throughout Stark County are in Girls Club and are placed according to their peer groups, including young parents and those who are pregnant.  If you would like more information on how you can volunteer to help with one of these groups, please email Carla, our Volunteer Coordinator.

Parenting- mentoring groups comprised of young moms and those who are pregnant.  This group meets once a week on Monday nights at Beacon Academy in Canton.  Our lead mentors of this group are trained using the Incredible Years Curriculum.  We also offer childcare for our young moms during their group time.  If you would like more information on how you can volunteer to help with this group or help to provide childcare during this group, please email Carla, our Volunteer Coordinator.

BRAVE- We partner with Pathway Caring for Children to mentor boys in the foster care system. Our BRAVE group meets on the first and third Thursday of each month.  If you would like more information on how you can volunteer to help with this group, please email Carla, our Volunteer Coordinator.

1 to 1- We offer one to one mentoring to those youth who may not be ready to be in a group setting. These are youth who need extra time and guidance with the hopes of eventually transitioning into one of our group settings.  If you would like more information on becoming a 1 to 1 mentor, please email Carla, our Volunteer Coordinator.

Prosper House

We are currently in the process of opening a housing facility for young, at-risk moms and their children.  Prosper House will be a live in facility for 4 young moms and their kids.  The goal is to provide safe housing while each mom continues their schooling, secures a job, and becomes financially stable in order to transition into the community on their own.  During their stay at Prosper House, we will provide life skill training that they will need as they make this transition.

Go here for more information on how you can make Prosper House a reality.
