As I reflected on it later, I began thinking about life, people, and especially the girls we mentor at Hannah’s House. Everything we plant grows into something. Words grow. Encouragement grows. Neglect grows too. So do kindness, consistency, safety, and love.

Prevention begins with awareness, but it continues through conversation. We can talk with our kids. We can listen without judgment. We can create space for questions. We can learn together. When young people know they are not alone, they are more likely to make choices that align with their safety and their future.

In those rooms, something sacred is happening. Conversations are unfolding. Stories are being shared. Walls are slowly coming down. Mentors are showing up, week after week, offering consistency, care, and a listening ear. And in the middle of it all… laughter.
